This is a very nice looking program with good features. The problem is the pop-up box used for entering numbers. When making note marks it often just gets in the way by covering up adjacent cells forcing you to hide it then bring it up again. Having the numbers always available under the board is better IMO.

Controls could be better, so not really worth playing.

Its good looking. Lots of way the app can give you hints or otherwise help you out if you like that. Weirdly, the only way to get back to the main menu (where the settings are) is to pause then quit. This mean you loose your progress even if youve bookmarked. Not even quitting the app and returning gets you to the main menu since the app puts you right back in the game. Sometimes quitting didnt save progress. All in all though, I feel the UI is a little convoluted and Im tapping too much to get what I want. But its free! So give it shot!

People, If you afford an Iphone or Ipod... Go buy the newspaper for like a couple quarters and dont waste your eyes on this crappy app. There are a couple sudoku apps and Im pretty sure this one is the worst. Dont be lazy and find some other free app

Once I figured out how to play it, the very first puzzle was broken! The autofill had no numbers in a square and when you clicked on it, the selection key pad was empty. I dont know if that was bad luck, but Im not going to use this one. All the features in the world arent worth a hill of beans if the puzzles dont work.

Trivial reason to dislike this app? Yes, but I dont care. The icon that shows up on your phone doesnt look like the one they show in the iTunes store. Its tan and just says, "Sudoku LOADED free" Its awful looking. Also, the screen shot isnt accurate either. It looks nothing like that. It may be shallow, but I deleted the app immediately. There are other Sudoku apps that are more pleasing to the eye.

Looks like this guy really pulled things together with 2.0. The new interface is beautiful. Whoever calls this "Overcomplicated" is seriously confused. To remove a number, simply press the number again. How easy can you get? I have sent a few e-mails to the developer and he has personally responded to every one. I had made some suggestions and he seems to have included most of them. Thanks! Overall gameplay is much smoother now. I love the fact that my pencil marks are finally being saved with my play history. I have upgraded to the full version and the Sudoku Online play is great. I just hope I can keep on top of the rankings.

Please update I am tired of opening the game and playing the same puzzle over and over again. The new iOS has caused this problem

The game authors took a simple game and added a horribly overcomplicated user interface. Weird unintuitive icons (a paint brush means copy...?) and hiding obvious tasks. I never could figure out how to erase (undo) typing a number-after a few minutes skimming the many pages (!) of instructions - I gave up. I suppose if youve got a high tolerance for reading directions (for a game that shouldnt really need them) it does have a nice look to it. But, Im uninstalling.

I love sudoku in general and feel that this one is easy to pickup and play. I havent tried them all but I really enjoy what Timothy has done and looking forward to getting the full version. Sad to see reviews of people who didnt try playing it and giving it a bad score for their own ignorance.

Although the app looks cool, it was just too confusing to figure out the different tools. Also, I could have been doing something wrong, but I felt like I was playing the same puzzle. There has to be a better free sudoku out there.

Just too much figuring out how to use tools and not enough sudoku. I too couldnt figure out how to get a different puzzle.

3-3/4 stars, actually. Clearly this developer put a lot of effort into this app & deserves a thumbs-up for that. Ive had a truly bad app, and this is absolutely Not one. (FindOut app is a "tool" by BluePal and its so horrendous, its actually insulting. My one-star rating was ten too many.) This Sudoku Loaded Free app just needs some tweaking, and then it will be terrific. Like the other reviewers, I also spent some time figuring out the tools, but once I did, I was impressed with the apps capabilities. I like being able to erase a single pencil mark, even on the automatic marking option. Ive wished for that. The interface is clean and easy to read. One of my other Sudoku games functions well, but the colors are distracting to the point that I dont enjoy the app. WHAT THIS APP NEEDS: (1) Either an undo-prior-steps button, or (2) An alert at the first time a wrong candidate is first entered in a square, or (3) Both. I find myself discarding a game to start a new one because Ill realize that several steps back I apparently made an error but no idea where. My clue is finding a square with no pencil marks. (?) Rather than spending time on it, I just start over. Thats frustrating; Im usually decent at Sudoku. I would most like to be alerted when my entry is wrong; at present one is only alerted of an existing conflict. Or, let us undo multiple steps. This app is headed in the direction of fabulous, so Im going to keep it & watch for updates. I betcha they come. Seems to me, someone putting this much effort into an app isnt going to quit until its great. Ill just wait.

Great user interface. I guess its time for me to buy the full version.

Ten minutes into my first game I was totally confused. The buttons dont always do what what they are intended to do. Flaky! Needs work! Better apps out there! Deleted!
